Negatives:
Disruption of Workflow
One of the disadvantages of smartphones in the workplace is that cell phone communication, both in the form of personal calls and work-related calls, may disrupt an employee's workflow since it increases the perception that your employees are always available to accept calls.

Misuse of Cell Phones
Cellular phones allow employees to communicate through media other than voice. Enhanced technology allows the transmission and receipt of text messages, videos, pictures, emails, and instant messages. Employees who have access to other employees' cell phone numbers may use cellular communication to send harassing or inappropriate texts, emails, and instant messages.



Positives:
Emergency/ staff are easily and quickly contacted
911 emergency services/contacting other staff are literally at your fingertips when you carry a cell phone. The benefit of having cell phones on hand in the event of a workplace emergency is that emergency services may be more easily and quickly reached using a cell phone.

Quickly access safety information
Information in the age of the Internet has never been more accessible. Now imagine how the information could be a benefit for health and safety. Quickly lookup SDSs, send and receive information pertaining to potential or actual hazards and controls, and even look up medical information and first-aid how-tos in the event of an accident. Especially where electronic devices are used everywhere in our generations now.

Positive consequences of using the cell phone at workplace.

• Easier and quicker contact access to emergency services. You can call 911 from your phone just by putting one finger on your cell phone and its easy to carry around. For some facilities they have online services and for those you can go on your phone and contact to them right away. In case of a motor vehicle collision you can use it as an evidence provider and can also call emergency services.

• Quick access to safety information. You can now ask any questions right away due to the quick access to internet and all the google reviews that you can find online which can help you with providing better care to your clients. Quick access to safety data sheets as well through internet as well and then you can find out about actual hazards and safety measures.

• Communication. It can help you communicate with your nurse and other authorities if in any serious incident and can also inform your client or facility if you are going to be late or not

Negative consequences of using cell phone at workplace.

• Creates a distraction and you are jeopardizing your client’s health and safety. It also makes you less attentive during work.

• Bad effect on studies because it will make their mind distract from work and encourages them to do different things than just studying.

positive :
. According to the occupational safety groups (OSG), cell phones might be needed just in case of an emergency so services may be more easily and quickly reached using a cellphone because some workplaces are too remote and emergency phones or landlines are not immediately available.

.Quick access to safety information because the information in the age of the internet has never been more accessible, Cell phones would allow that information to be sent immediately, preventing a delay in inappropriate care.

Negative:
.It is a big distraction from work because by using phones it gets you to be distracted and not be concentrated as you have to. Therefore many mistakes and accidents could happen more often and most people admit that it is sometimes tempting to check a text, pick up a call, or otherwise use their phones while driving.

.It may create laziness and losing focus because of the misuse of cellphones in the workplace. This will affect productivity and teamwork as well . Not only this but also there would be no effective communication between each other.

Communication is a key part of safety in the workplace. Cell phones have made communication in multiple mediums a reality. When it comes to safety, the advantages of using cell phones to communicate are endless. Even though it is, we have to be more careful to the use of cellphones and using them only when it is needed so as to maintain safety.

POSITIVES
1. There would be less unrelated workplace distractions, if you're distracted with personal messages or phone calls, you're less focused on the job at hand.

2. You will not be distracting others your calls, texts or other notifications.

3. It's hard to get sucked into workplace gossip if you are not on your phone.

NEGATIVES
1. Not using your phone at work could cause you to miss out on important matters such as a family emergency

2. You may have a timely matter that could be affected if you are not allowed to use your phone before a break or end of shift

CONCLUSION

Based on what I've researched, it is best not to have the use of telephones on work time in order to focus more positively on the job. Break time and end of shift should be efficient time to take care of personal matters. If there are true emergencies, your co-workers and employer would be able to adjust professionally to allow time deal with your issues.

Cell phones should not be used in the workplace
POSITIVE
-Quickly access safety information. It allows the information to be sent immediately and prevents any delay in appropriate care.

-Emergency services are easily and quickly contacted. You can easily call 911 emergency services. Having a cell phone provides a way to contact medical and police services.

NEGATIVE
-Cell phones are a primary cause of distraction. It's very unsafe and easily gets distracted when you use your phone. Sometimes its tempting to check a text, pick up a call or go into social media.


-Equipment operations require focus. Distraction to any equipment is very dangerous. Cell phones in the workplace believe that the policies are not enough to protect workers.

Positive
1. Emergency services are easily accessed
2. Safety of information, easily accessible


Negative
1.Distractions
2. Timely, Not everyone is "tech savy"
